Disaster Recovery Planning

It takes careful planning to ensure that your business can survive a disaster of any type. When talking about Disaster Recovery Planning, many people think of technology disasters such as a flood, tornado, hurricane or some other type natural disaster. Interestingly, ONTRACK Data Recovery says that only about 3% of occurrences are related to natural disasters. Human error and hardware failure account for most occurrences.

When it comes to a recovery strategy, many areas within the business are neglected, such as:

  • Paper is still used and is vulnerable.
  • Key information on desktop computers is not backed up.
  • Laptop computers are vulnerable to theft.
  • Backup telecommunication lines do not exist.
  • Disaster alert procedures do not exist.
  • A formal corporate security plan does not exist.
  • A plan to recover voice and voicemail systems does not exist.

Sisterson can provide the expertise necessary to develop a plan that will bring awareness to all employees of the business and provide a step-by-step plan to ensure business continuity and protect vital business operations, facilities and corporate assets.
