John has expertise in the federal and multistate taxation of trusts and their beneficiaries, as well as of high net worth owners and executives of closely held businesses and their families. He is the Partner-in-Charge of the Firm’s tax services for trusts and of its tax research resources. He also shares responsibility for the Firm’s tax services to private foundations. John has extensive experience in dealing with, from both a planning and compliance perspective, the interaction of numerous tax issues involving, for example, the passive activity loss and at-risk rules, the alternative minimum tax and the related party rules as they affect both individuals and trusts.
In addition to his client responsibilities, John has lead the Firm’s initiative to design and implement its alternative work arrangement policy and to integrate the Firm’s compensation system with its performance evaluation process.
