Pennsylvania Task Force Will Address Misclassification of Employees

New legislation in the state of Pennsylvania has established a joint task force on worker misclassification. The purpose of the task force is to investigate the practice of classifying workers as independent contractors although they qualify as employees, and to develop and implement a plan to reduce such practices. Duties include, but are not limited to, evaluating existing enforcement, reviewing existing law, developing a plan to educate employers and employees and determining the amount of revenue lost due to misclassification.
